Come and visit the ‘royal’ village of Etne, between Bergen and Stavanger, an hour's drive north-east of Haugesund!
This is the village where King Magnus, Norway's first crowned king, grew up. Magnus's father, Erling Skakke, believed that, as a result of his marriage to Kristin, daughter of Sigurd the Crusader, his son was heir to the throne. Being ambitious, he made sure that Magnus Erlingson, then aged eight, became Norway’s first crowned king.
Erling Skakke sailed down the Etnefjord or from the West with his big Viking ships countless times, passing the site where our holiday cabins stand today en route.
The three holiday cabins are of very high standard and are located right beside the fjord and not far from the mouth of the Etnefjord. Could this be the best that Fjord Norway has to offer? The landscape opens out as you approach the mouth of the Etnefjord, and you have great views of the fjord and the Romsaøyene islands, and the mountains on the other side. You are close to the sea, have comfortable accommodation and can relax and do exactly what you like!
